Vinicius Renê Lummertz Silva was the President of Embratur (Brazilian Tourism Board) from 2015 to 2018. In April 2018, he was appointed Minister of Tourism of Brazil. He has also worked as National Secretary of Tourism Policies in the Ministry of Tourism. His prior work experience includes the Secretariat of Tourism, Sports and Culture of Florianópolis and State Secretariat of International Cooperation in the Government of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.
Vinicius Renê Lummertz Silva holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the American University of Paris, a postgraduate degree from Harvard University’s Kennedy School, in the IMD of Lausanne, Switzerland, and an Executive MBA from Amana Key in São Paulo.
